Texas are Scottish band fronted by singer Sharleen Spiteri. The band was founded by Johnny McElhone taking their name from the 1984 Wim Wenders movie Paris, Texas. Their musical sound went from blues rock from debut album Southside (1989), via blue eyed soul of White on Blonde (1997) to the disco pop of their most recent release Red Book (2005). Sharleen Spiteri (vocals, guitar), Ally McErlaine (guitar), Johnny McElhone (bass) have survived all line ups. In 1994, Ellen DeGeneres requested the use of the Texas track "So Called Friend" as the theme tune for her self-titled ABC Comedy Show.

Do I know if you are sleeping
Cause you lie so still and warm
Yeh the darness and the silence wrap around me
Dont hear your cries that make me sleep so sound
Maybe Ive been missing you
Oh maybe Ive been missing you
For so long
If one day you said you were happy
I think your spell would be broken for good
Sometimes I pray
If you are unkind to me
Maybe Ill love you more for that
And maybe Ive been missing you
Oh maybe Ive been missing you
For so long
And maybe Ive been missing you
Ive been missing you
For so long yeh yeh
